Introductory Paper: The Spread of Bilateral Trade Agreements (DRAFT)

This ICFTU report gives an introduction to regional, bilateral and multilateral agreements, their extension and scope. The report also looks at major Customs Unions, Free Trade Areas, and economic asosciation agreements around the world, with particular attention to any clauses covering social issues, core labour standards and trade union participation. An annex to the document gives examples of provisions of core labour standards for inclusion in bilateral agreements.
