Organizing Workers

Organizing Workers (intro text)

The idea that the labor market is rapidly changing determines actions by unions themselves to revitalise into dynamic organizations which members would become active participants rather than passive ones. The elaboration of strategies for organizing members and non-members becomes essential in this circumstance.

The list of the content below explores the different targets on the organizing strategy. This session brings different groups of worker such as women, young people, temporary and part-time workers which hold a large proportion of the new jobs created in recent years. It also illustrates the disparities between the public and private sectors in terms of organizing strategies and membership density as well as emphasizes the successful campaigns and training performance to members and activists around the globe.
