Action on antibiotic resistance (ReAct)
Action on Antibiotic Resistance, or ReAct is a coalition that links a wide range of individuals, organisations and networks around the world taking concerted action to respond to antibiotic resistance. ReAct works with the vision that current and future generations of people around the globe should have access to effective treatment of bacterial infections.
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)
AFSCME is actively involved in the movement for meaningful reform to address problems of health care (high costs, uneven quality and limited access) which are posing a grave threat to the economic security of most workers. Affordability of benefits, quality of health care services, and coverage for all is a basic human right that must be recognized and fulfilled.
Global Equity Gauge Alliance
It provides information on health and An Equity Gauge perspective therefore involves striving towards a world in which disadvantaged population groups (whether defined by age, gender, race-ethnicity, socio-economic class or residence) can better achieve their full health potential, as indicated by the health standards of those groups in society who are most advantaged. It provides some very interesting papers on measuring health equity and building coalitions and actions aiming at health equity.
Health Action International (HAI) Africa
HAI Africa is a growing regional network of consumers, NGOs, health care providers, academics and individuals in more than 20 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa promoting increased access to essential medicines, the essential medicines concept and the rational use of both modern and traditional medicines.
Health Global Access Project (Health GAP)
Health GAP is a US-based organisation, AIDS and human rights activists, people living with HIV/AIDS, public health experts, fair trade advocates and concerned individuals who campaign against policies of neglect and avarice that deny treatment to millions and fuel the spread of HIV. It provides information on different campaigns as well as interesting reports on WTO negotiations and other political developments related to access to medicines.
People's Health Movement
PHM is a grass root organisation, a wide network of many health networks and activists who have been concerned by the growing inequities in health over the last 25 years. It provides news and analyses, papers and books concerned with issues of promoting health for all agenda.
Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA)
Since 1972 the Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA) has endeavoured to protect the economic and social security of poor self-employed women working in India's informal sector. SEWA's Health Team focuses on grassroots-level primary health care, maternal and child health initiatives, training and education, and the development of sustainable health cooperatives.
Service Employees International Union (SEIU)
The SEIU (Service Employees International Union), a trade union organisation with 1.8 million members in US, Canada and Puerto Rico, has launched a project "Americans for Health Care". The project is the largest grassroots health care reform organisation in the country, fighting for quality, affordable health care for everyone.
