Participating in the shaping of migration policies, promoting sound labour migration practices, reaching out to migrant workers, making sure that the benefits of migration, when it occurs, are maximized for all, these are among the priorities of trade unions in dealing with labour migration. Protecting the rights of migrant workers is the best way to protect the rights of all workers and avoid attempts to place migrant and non-migrant workers in competition with each other.
