Based on research gaps emerging from the GURN Workshop on Climate Change, its Impact on Employment and Labour Markets held in Brussels in March 2010, a call for papers was issued in April 2011 in order to receive proposals for papers which could be discussed at a GURN workshop in October 2011.

Three issues were covered by the call for papers:

  • Working Conditions (i.e. wages, freedom of association, Collective Bargaining and Organizing, Occupational Health and Safety) in “Green Jobs”
  • Environmental Rights and Collective Bargaining on Environmental Issues

  • Green Taxation and Fairness

Authors were invited to submit proposals for one of the issues. More than 30 authors expressed their interest, in providing papers and participation at the workshop. Most authors submitted abstracts for topic one, followed by topic two and then three. Among these, ten papers were selected and their authors invited to the workshop in Brussels.
